Greenline Africa has an exciting action-orientated volunteer program aimed at making a difference to our environment, our people and the communities in which we work. Travel with a purpose.
Our volunteer program is a truly African experience offered at the Greenline Africa Centre and is open to volunteers from around the world. The Greenline Africa volunteer program operates all year round, including public holidays.
Activities include conservation, recycling, education, health, community development and rural agriculture which are run in partnership with local traditional leaders, school authorities and appropriate authorities. We suggest you stay for a minimum of 1-2 weeks, however, longer tailor-made volunteer experiences can be put together on request.
Volunteers are kept busy Monday to Friday and weekends are spent at leisure for volunteers to experience the adventure and adrenalin side of Victoria Falls and Livingstone and soak up the local culture. Greenline Africa can organise your adventure activities at discounted rates.
Volunteering with Greenline Africa gives you the opportunity to be part of and experience the day-to-day lives of rural communities.
Accommodation is provided at the Dibu Tibu Community Centre which is located within the rural area just 20 km from Victoria Falls town. This is a farm-style house with two bedrooms that sleeps 8 people.
Volunteers will enjoy three simple meals a day which are prepared together with help from the local cook.
Volunteers are welcome to prepare different food than that provided at their own cost and this can be purchased on town trips at the local supermarket.
Any meals eaten at restaurants or other outside places will be at your own cost.
If you have special dietary requirements, this needs to be included in the relevant space on the booking form.
Laundry is done weekly for you at the Centre by our friendly housekeeping staff.
Please ensure all items of clothes and towels are labelled with your name.
Laundry bags are provided.
The Centre has local internet connection for wifi usage and volunteers can also buy local sim cards for your cell phones in town or at the airport.
On average 7-8 hours are spent on projects, however, this may differ from day to day.
After hours in the evening are generally at leisure.
Weekends are off-time.
Weekends are off-time and volunteers may choose to either stay at the Centre or go out and explore Victoria Falls and it’s surrounds.
If volunteers would like to book any activity in Victoria Falls, the Centre facilitator will be happy to assist you with the bookings.
