Greenline Africa Trust is a dynamic and compassionate non-governmental organisation dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of marginalised communities.

Through a diverse range of programs, Greenline Africa Trust addresses various pressing issues and works tirelessly to uplift those in need.

Our mission is to empower and support marginalised individuals, including grandmothers (Sponsor a Gogo program) and children (Sponsor a Child program).

Additionally, Greenline Africa is actively involved in promoting social enterprise, fostering education, and addressing the needs of communities in distress.

By embracing a holistic approach, Greenline Africa values community empowerment, sustainability, inclusivity, and environmental conservation.

Meet The Trustees

Veronica Chapman

Veronica, after being educated in Harare, spent many years leading a thriving management recruitment consultancy in South Africa. Veronica's passion for conservation and community engagement led her to serve as the Editor of Greenline, a magazine dedicated to highlighting environmental preservation and community initiatives in Southern Africa.

She currently holds the role of Green Tourism Representative for Southern Africa. Veronica is engaged with Africa Conservation Travel (ACT), channeling her expertise and passion into their initiatives.

Namo Chuma

Namo, from Hwange District, is driven by a deep passion for the environment and the communities he serves. He embarked on his professional journey as a teacher, and his commitment to environmental conservation led him to join Environment Africa (EA), where he played a pivotal role in establishing and managing the Victoria Falls office.

Namo currently serves as the Zambia Country Director for EA. Namo's involvement with Greenline Africa as a Trustee further showcases his extensive background in development work, with a particular focus on children and youth.

Charlene Hewat

Charlene, a Zimbabwean native, is passionate about sustainable development initiatives. As the founder and former CEO of Environment Africa, an organisation focused on environmental conservation and community development, Charlene is established as a respected conservationist. With an MSc in Development Management and over 30 years of experience, she brings valuable expertise to her role.

Charlene's involvement with Greenline Africa reflects her unwavering dedication to making a positive impact. Her voluntary assistance ensures that the organisation continues to thrive and generate lasting change in the communities it serves.

A Special Mention

World Bicycle Relief is a catalyst for change, partnering with people in rural communities around the globe to realise their goals by expanding opportunities to access education, markets, health facilities and vital services with the tool they need to thrive.

Over the past four years, World Bicycle Relief has collaborated closely with Greenline Africa to implement its Mobilised Communities program in Hwange, Zimbabwe. This partnership has been instrumental in providing vital support to the local community by facilitating access to over 2,000 bicycles, mechanics, and comprehensive programming.

The efforts of World Bicycle Relief and Greenline Africa are instrumental in addressing this need and empowering the community with increased mobility and opportunities for a more sustainable future.
